CREATIVE WRITING
While developing my approach to creative journaling I drew a lot of inspiration from authors using creative writing techniques. Writing games became part of my workshops as I found that after a few hours of introspective work playful activities were nourishing and relaxing. At one point I had enough material to create a workshop based entirely on creative writing so in the summer of 2001 I offered my first weekend of writing games and exercises. It was in a beautiful natural setting so I created a workshop of contemplation and creation, aimed at developing the vitality of the writing while nourishing the soul. The experience was so satisfying that I have repeated it several times since, in different settings.
Writing is a wonderful way to tell our stories, to clarify where we are at and to free ourselves from the pressures of daily life. To me, creative writing is more a way to approach writing than a set of techniques. The techniques are tricks to get us going, to bring us into a receptive state so we are in touch with our lives, our passions and longings, but also with our muck and dark spots! Writing in a creative way is writing from our whole life. Techniques are tools to get us over our fears and blocks and to stimulate the imagination.
Workshops:
The Creative Writing workshops give the opportunity to experiment and play with words in order to discover ways of writing that free the creative flow. We all have the potential to develop our creativity in writing because we are alive! The workshops are aimed at awakening this vitality using unusual techniques, games and writing themes.
